Blue Fly
A blue fly buzzing in my kitchen,?thrashing at the window, frantic.
I pity it?and open the latch.
?A cool breeze sweeps in.
Bashing and buzzing,?I shoo it to the opening,
but it won’t —
And flies off?back into the dark house.
Tomorrow I’ll find it
lying on its back in the bedroom
Knees bent, legs in the air
Resigned
